In the first half of this passage (5:11-6:20), our author says: “Grow up!” because there are those among you who are falling away, but those who will prove genuine must persevere in faith, pursue knowledge, and pour into others.
Our author began with shame and moved into warning, but now offers consolation as he seeks to instill confidence in his listeners.
